For nearly ten years the Pork Recordings roster has mainly consisted of a close knit group of Hull based artists, up until now the only 'outsiders' have been Akotcha who released the 'Sound Burger' CD in 1997. However, the departure of Fila Brazillia and the demise of Bullitnuts has prompted a slight shift in A&R policy.
Banabila are the first result of the changes at Pork HQ: from an unsolicited demo they have had a track included on the 'Dubplates from the Lamp ' compilation (PORK073) and now present their debut album 'Voiznoiz'.
Hailing from Rotterdam in Holland, Banabila are an eight piece collective based around principal songwriter Michel Banabila.
In 49 minutes they manage to squeeze in 20 tracks of exotic electronica, skits and cinematic strangeness. This is certainly more experimental than anything ever released on Pork before and may take a few people by surprise. The sounds here are more akin to artists like Fink, Position Normal, Wisdom of Harry and Mouse on Mars.'

Tender beats, oddball samples, live instrumentation make a warming abstract picture. Wax (SN)
