The long awaited follow up to the critically acclaimed "A Fistful of Dubplates" (Zoom Records) which featured DJ Harvey and was championed by the likes of François Kevorkian, Ashley Beedle, Dimitri From Paris and David Morales to name but a few. This time dub versions of four Double Yellow tracks from their recently released album Life In The Slow Lane

Over the years Dominic Dawson has written, produced and recorded extensively with music luminaries such as Chaz Jankel (Ian Dury & The Blockheads co-writer), he recently produced for Disco super-group Odyssey, is currently working with Brit Funk Soul legends Imagination and about to unleash his new band Banks with long time friend & collaborator, house diva, Lisa Millet.

He has had Top 40 success in 2002 as The Hydraulic Dogs with "Shake It Baby" featuring KC & The Sunshine Band, Tupac & Roger Troutman (Zapp).

He famously introduced Florence Welch (Florence + The Machine) to the song "You've Got The Love". She later confirmed in an interview - it was his introduction that led her to cover it - he finished his DJ set with it every week in a bar they both worked in before she was signed.

Dominic was raised on a diet of Jamaican roots music from an early age, and literally lived and breathed through an echo chamber for the entirety of his youth. However, making a move from the reggae soaked shores of his home town Brighton to London in late '87 saying he became somewhat obsessed with dance music was an understatement! His weapon of choice on the 1210's moved from Jamaican to Chicago beats and he rapidly became a serious player on the then burgeoning London house scene DJing and producing his own beats at a frantic rate.

He has subsequently written, produced and remixed for many record labels including Sony, Defected, R&S, Hed Kandi, Paper, Noid, Tirk and Fabric. One of many high points is his 14 minute epic dub of the classic First Choice track "Armed And Extremely Dangerous" for Arthur Baker's Minimal Records.

In 2008 he recorded his debut for Here And Now Recordings "Into The Night" alongside Chaz Jankel and Angie Brown (Bizarre

Inc).

Double Yellow is a vehicle for the songs of Dave Lilley and his wide range of influences, using his own 'rustic' recording process. It's scope is broadened by the inclusion of a number of collaborators close to Dave, most notably Jonathan 'Diesler' Radford and Mrs Double Yellow, Suzanne Lilley.

"For A Few Dubplates More" is release number 4 for Double Yellow on Here And Now Recordings. Previous tracks have been supported by a whole host of DJs from Gilles Peterson and Nemone (BBC 6 Music), to Joey Negro, Danny Krivit, Bill Brewster, Osunlade, Simbad, Faze Action and many more, with tracks being licensed to Ism Records and Seamless Recordings.

Utilising a selection of "secret weapons" in his arsenal of dubwize SFX & plugins from his sonic laboratory, Dominic has literally torn apart and re-built these four Double Yellow nuggets from the bottom up, adding very little apart from some trademark extra drums, percussion and fresh bass lines. The key to these mixes is stripping back to the raw essence, teasing out the best elements and leaving the rest to your imagination with his extended interpretations that keep the dance floor very much in mind. With DJD from a dance background and Double Yellow from live music they compliment each other meeting on Rootsy common ground.
