Grupo X pack an explosive punch with this club-oriented strut of classic Nuyorican flavoured soul featuring the roof-raising vocals of Lisa Millett of Defected's huge One PhatDeeva fame. 'X-Perience? is Grupo X's follow-up vinyl EP to last year's internationally successful release 'Brand New Love' (feat. Lisa Millett on vocals). The groundbreaking Latin-soul crossover track, 'Brand New Love' (originally from Grupo X's debut album, 'X-Posure?) has featured on the playlists and charts of influential DJs, including Gilles Peterson, Snowboy, Adrian Gibson, Patrick Forge, Rainer Truby (Compost), John Kong and Nik Weston. Trombonist Jonny Enright's UK latin soul crew, Grupo X have carved a reputation for themselves. With band members having worked alongside a string of artists including Julian Lennon, David Gray Billy Bragg, Bjork, Andy Williams, Babyface, Mojave 3, James Taylor Quartet, Lo-Fidelity All Stars, Gregory Isaacs and Carl Cox it is by no surprise that Grupo X have established a growing reputation on the world stage. Expect nothing less than bliss from the seamless eight-piece band of accomplished talents. Lisa Millet's raison d'être of soul provides the most obvious meeting point with the blossomed Cuban dexterity of Grupo X and the setting for an amazing ensemble of Salsoul flavour.'

A mighty slice of vocal nuyorican soul from the nine piece band Grupo X, and a summer anthem in the making. Lisa Millet?s hugely uplifting vocal is underpinned by Salsoul inspired Latin soul rhythms, and a tangible sense of carnival good times. A fiver says Norman Jay drops this at Notting Hill, and it goes right off mate. - Joe90 Teletext
