Baron Retif & Concepcion Perez (BR&CP) take control of the beat, liberating sequences from traditio- nally confined limits, casually shifting patterns off the beaten path. Well-schooled in the art of heavy bass-lines and vintage spring reverbs, they've created their own sound, playfully labeled 'Decalette': an off-beat hip-hop with serious jazz tendencies.

After dropping the solid 10-inch, "Superman", followed by the summertime beat-tape, "Cassette Mouillée", Baron Retif & Concepcion Perez bring us "Cascades",an EP out on Music Large in june. 5 fresh new tracks from the duo, as well as a sweet & sour remix from Low End Theory regular 'Free The Robots' (Alpha Pup Records).

The pulsating grooves of B.R.&.C.P. remain unrestrained and untamed, with their trademark minimal funk flow deeply intact. Their singular brand of future dub reminds us of a classic chicago house re- cord pitched down to the maximum, with the deep bass making the needle jump occassionally, adding unexpected flavor to the slow-motion bump and grind.
