Suave

A 6 track leftfield/idm ep (22m 16s) — released September 16th 2013 on Run Music

Mr. Mitch is at the forefront of a new wave of artists turning grime upside down and expanding the genre's possibilities in the process. His forthcoming Suave EP harnesses r'n'b, trap, hip-hop and electronic music, resulting in a visceral showcase of the producer's versatility and talent.

The South Londoner confidently straddles tempos and moods throughout Suave. Wipe is a dizzying opener whilst Catford - described by FACT mag as being like "TNGHT recreated by cats" - pays homage to Mr. Mitch's home turf. These bangers are balanced with more restrained, atmospheric offerings; the tense, shadowy Who Cares?, Gorillaz-esque September and R'n'B style slow jam Waiting By The Door. The EP is wrapped up with the stripped back and synth-lead adventure, It Might Be.

In addition to crafting exploratory electronic music, Mr. Mitch helms his own Gobstopper label and co-runs the pioneering, Rinse FM-endorsed instrumental night, Boxed, where the MC-free music policy is simply, "no bars, just beats". He's produced for Skepta and his music has been featured on A-Trak's Fool's Gold Records compilations and, more recently, Big Dada's excellent Grime 2.0, curated by electronic music connoisseur Joe Muggs. Much of Mr. Mitch's output can be heard on his sketchbook-like SoundCloud page where the cat sampling madness of Catford has already amassed 40,000+ combined plays.

Mr. Mitch's Suave EP will be released via Run Music digitally and on 12" vinyl on 16th September.
