Everyone Is Remixing Everything Else

A 11 track leftfield/idm album (1h 3m 13s) — released September 30th 2013 on STEEL TIGER RECORDS

This Steel Tiger remix compilation - of tracks pulled from the recent acclaimed album by The Cutler Everything Is Touching Everything Else(Steel Tiger, 2013) - is remixed with love by a stellar gathering of fine musical talent.

Airplay for The Cutler and Steel Tiger on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6 Music includes Rob da Bank, Lauren Laverne, Gilles Peterson, Nemone, and Stuart Maconie. Regular spins in the US include SomaFM and in Europe Josef Sedlon on Radio 1 Prague - and James Dean (aka Lost Idol) on Brighton's Juice 107.2FM.

The rich mix of names assembled here are all friends of The Cutler. In the case of Darren Emerson (Underworld) and Richard Dorfmeister (Kruder & Dorfmeister, and G-Stone Recordings) nearly two decades have elapsed since they and Steve Cobby first shared gigs and became acquainted; likewise with Mark Rae (Grand Central Music, and Rae & Christian). Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins, The Robin Guthrie Trio and noted Harold Budd collaborator) and Cobby hooked up more recently in 2005; when they both performed at American avant-garde composer and poet Harold Budd's farewell concert at the Brighton Festival. Mark Brydon (Moloko) and Steve go back further, to the mid-eighties and FON Studios in Sheffield. Gavin Hardkiss (Little Wing, and aka Hawke) hosted Cobby's first trip to San Francisco in '95 and also recommended Tranquility Bass's Mike Kandel (ambient/trip-hop innovator) for this album. Mr Beasley is a Yorkshire-based talent much-favoured by BBC6 Music and a good friend of Pork and Steve - he and Bristol's acclaimed outfit Unforscene have been released through Pork's Larkin Out and Pork Recordings imprints. And as fans of his Astral Eddie stuff it was an easy answer when Pete Lazonby (GHI) also offered to contribute.....

This is a diverse, quality selection and a great testament to the high-level of musical respect afforded to both Cobby and Pork as creators and purveyors of top-quality music since 1991.

Mates mixing with love.

These guys are a real breath of fresh air, highly recommend checking this out! - Disco Delicious

A really interesting assemblage of remixers, from Darren Emerson to Tranquility Bass to Gavin Hardkiss. Opening with leftfield house, which crackles and throbs with dance floor vibes - to luscious downtempo dub - leading through wide-eyed ambient stargazing and then scuzzy downtempo hip hop - finishing up with a remix where everything throbs but in a gentle manner. Highly recommended! - Acid Ted
