Everybodys Lovin My Baby / Can Hardly Stand It

A 2 track rockabilly revival single (5m 5s) — released April 25th 2011 on King

Charlie Feathers is a legend even though he never had a hit record or anything close to it, but he had a style all of his own. He was one of the first to work in a hybrid style somewhere between honky-tonk country and blues that became known as "rockabilly". He was the first recording artist to sign with the famous Sun Records label but his rawest and most collectable 45s are the handful he released on Ohio label King, on which have been changing hands for vast sums since the 1970's. His theatrical, hiccup-styled, energetic, rockabilly vocal style inspired a later generation of rock vocalists, including Lux Interior of The Cramps (who also covered "Can Hardly Stand It" on their 1984 album "Bad Music for Bad People") and Iggy Pop of The Stooges. Both these original cuts where recorded and originally released in 1956 and "Can Hardly Stand It" is featured in the Quentin Tarantino movie Kill Bill 2. DJ Support from: Bob Dylan (BBC 6), Mark Lamarr, Steve Jones (Sex Pistols), Keb Darge.
