Cardamon Copy came from a period where ex-Simian and Arclight collaborator Simon Lord was tampering with an old Tascam 4-track cassette recorder, enjoying the texture that the tape added, seemingly condensing and giving rounder edges to the sound. With the arrangements he explored ideas around structure being formed by a number of phrases moving in and out of sync with each other - making for a dubbed-out and deconstrcuted sound that fits well within the label's growing penchant for smudged out and gelatinous electronic meditations.
