'95 Mindfulness

A 11 track alternative rap/hip-hop album (31m 5s) — released July 17th 2015 on Astral Black

Astral Black are proud to present the debut release from London-based producer, Drae Da Skimask. At just 19-years old, Drae has already racked up production credits for some of the most exciting new hip-hop artists in both the UK & US (Piff Gang, Jesse James Solomon, Onoe Caponoe etc.). Having built a dedicated following in the US Mid-West through his Soundcloud page and having signed with the Elastic Artists agency at the start of 2015 - Drae has taken his individual brand of 'sewerside funk' on tour throughout Western Europe, playing alongside the likes of Kahn & Neek, Hannah Faith (Soulection), Grems, Loom & more.

'95 Mindfulness' (named after his year of birth), sees Drae secure his position as one of the most exciting producers at the forefront of hip-hop's current new wave. Boasting 11 instrumental tracks, each demonstrating his finesse for twisted, lo-fi, rap productions. Heading up the release is 'Coogi Sweater' (premiered by Boiler Room), it's slumped 808's and ethereal rhodes serving as a mission statement for the rest of the EP. This vision is carried through to 'Yamborghini Forever', which sees a chopped up Juicy J acapella employed as a sporadic rhythmic element. 'Operation Lockdown' & 'Why June' showcase the young producers creative take on more traditional hip-hop production methods. Whilst tracks such as 'Theta Wave' & 'Quest' lean more towards the laid-back sound favoured by LA's beat scene, proving that Drae isn't afraid of experimenting with his music and hints at a future direction for his sound.

Following the release of '95 Mindfulness' Drae will also be appearing, alongside the rest of the Astral Black roster, at this years Outlook Festival in Croatia.
