BIG DADDY MOOCHIN' is not your average new funk band. Their debut single No Rest For The Wicked (Freestyle) already demonstrated the sheer power of their rough and lowdown approach to nowaday's funk music. Being on the UK scene for years now, the Brighton-based funksters went from interpreting female funk classics from the 60s and 70s to a mighty collective of songwriting and funky soul socking musicians presenting their original compositions. EVERYBODY'S MARCHIN (But Your're Not Listening) demonstrates the group is deeply rooted in the raw funk manner of the 60s and early 70s, but they also stretch the meaning of the so-called Deep Funk genre by relating the new song to one of the obvious problems of our time. The flipside comes with the uptempo instrumental funk RATPACK, produced by Leigh Gracie from Speedometer who also played percussion on this one. It's just one of those grooves that builds and builds and builds... With its crisp drums, the bumping bassline figures, screaming horns and a great guitar-workout. This is a stunning double-sider ready to be spun on the dancefloors.'
