Released: 25th September 2006 | 14 track alternative rap/hip-hop album
ILLA MAN, real name David Penning, hails from Kilburn in West London and has for over 10 years headed the incredible hip hop/metal/d'n'b band Flict. In that time he has worked with Cypress Hill producer and hip hop heavyweight DJ Muggs as well as countless local producers. The Holy Moley is a dark, tripped out and sombre masterpiece, drawing on grime, dancehall and drum'n'bass as influences. Made during the course of 2004/2005 with producers, Will and'confusingly'Will (or 'Uncle Willy' and 'Other Willy' as he likes to call them), it's the perfect flipside to the persona Illz adopts when on stage performing balls out metal tracks with Flict. With excellent technique, he has the ability to freestyle with ease, as well as machine gun fire drum'n'bass style lyrics at you in a manner so hard and fast you'd better be wearing body armour. He is a force to be reckoned with and truly an entertainer, and by the end of his show he'll have you feeling like you're his best friend ' and indeed should you meet him, he would treat you as such'no matter who you are.

"' a 48-minute album of dark, grimy beats composed of minimalist drums and plenty of wacked-out, spacey sound effects. ' With a thick accent, nasal flow, and a light-hearted, self-deprecating swagger, Illa Man delves into the struggles of the starving artist with tracks like 'Hungry' and 'Funds'"
