OPA

The forth release on Cleaning Tapes arrives courtesy of Belgian producer LBNHRX as a six track EP title OPA.

Cultivated in the Thin Consolutation camp LBNHRX has one EP under his belt holding his own along side Cupp Cave, Hermutt Lobby and Squeky Lobster. Along with the Vlek imprint Thin Consoluation has been the focus point of a hand full of house, hiphop and techno experimentalists making waves in Belgium, evermore internationally and striking a chord with the British electronic music scene especially. This year has seen Svetlana Industries and Astro:Dynamics champion Ssaliva and Dynooo and with the Belgium Booms London festival approaching it seems well timed for our own import.

OPA is LBN's first incursion and brings the kind of sonic vocabulary you might expect from any one of these artists; crisp, gravely beats, organic swells, disintergrated hooks, and blunted dub atmospheres. But OPA stands lightly more robust and dense, awash with spluttering hiss and crackle, incorporating 2step and early Hyperdub styles, nodding distantly to Burial-esq moods and finding its feet planted close to paths paved more recently by the Young Echo troupe.
