Turin based producer OOBE aka Yari Malaspina follows up a string of excellent releases for Opal Tapes and 1080p with this debut EP for Cleaning Tapes entitled 'Stealth'. Pushing forth with the momentum fortified by fellow Italian based artists Dave Saved, Vaghe Stelle and the Gang of Ducks label. Building on previous efforts Stealth exhibits deep euphoric rave motifs stripped backed and smeared over house and techno templates and lofi degraded aesthetics steeped in post new-age ennui. Opening track Stealth Love makes up half of this six track EP pouring out over 16+ minutes of disintegrating beats, vaporous pads, forlorn vocal cuts and obscured 90s dance fragments held together under the dense, claustrophobic atmosphere that has become signature of OOBE's music. Second track 'Lost' boasts omened bass drones undulating over muffled beats and disembodied Burial-like vocal slivers rendered against Actress-esq industrial minimalism. Imperial takes Stealth into a more synthetic digital realm with rhythmic bit-crushed synths stabbing between the ribs of a would-be 4x4 house beat before the EP returns to its lofi opening, crawling into its deepest grittiest trough with Stardust 90 and Softcore sounding like the anxious come-up and sluggish fall of the same trip.

Stealth sounds like the soundtrack to a vicarious, voyeuristic fantasy; that of introverted worn-out would-be club kids peering dead eyed and yearning through covert cameras at live streams of other young, beautiful revellers grinding, gurning and dripping all over one another seemingly unaware and uninhibited by their rhizomic audience.
