Jon Allen was born in the rural serenity of Winchester and moved to the bohemian haven that is Totnes, South Devon when he was six. Philanthropists Leonard and Dorothy Elmhirst bought Darlington Hall in 1925 and converted the dilapidated stately home into a progressive school. An influx of 'alternative' people soon followed, flourishing to this day. Allen himself rented a room on the Darlington estate for £8 a week where he developed his sound.
December marks the release of 'Going Home' - the debut full single release by South Devon's finest singer-songwriter Jon Allen: a rootsy, well-crafted blend of early 70s style folk rock, with a touch of blues and country.
