The Overproof Soundsystem consists of various members of G Corp and Rockers Hi-Fi.....not a super-group as such, more a dub-hungry affiliation. Overproof is Different Drummer¹s Birmingham-based Reggae Night which provides some serious bassline pressure for the echo-heads and skankmeisters of the second city.
The soundsystem has long since spread its wings, completing a highly successful tour of Germany in 2001 (including live shows on National Radio & TV Stations) , and now getting ready for a more extensive trip into mainland Europe in March 2002.
It seemed inevitable then that a collaboration on vinyl would be the next step for the soundsystem. ³Watch What You Put Inna² combines the production skills of the mighty G Corp (surely set for worldwide destruction in 2002) and the vocal talents of Rockers Hi-Fi¹s MC Tweed and Juggla. The steppers version is accompanied by a killer dancehall version by Different
Drummer¹s DJ Dick and Frankie Valley.
Originally the track was meant to be called ³Rizzla² ...unfortunately the name had to be changed (a firm yet friendly letter from everyones favourite skin suppliers advised us that they were against any connection with their brand!)'
