The opening single from Wunmi's debut album is a treat for all fans of her unique brand of Afro fusion, as featured on Masters At Work's 'Ekabo' and Bugz In The Attic's 'Zombie'. 'Talk Talk Talk' sets the tone for her forthcoming album, a dynamite funky Afro groove courtesy of the French connection led by Julien '?. Wunmi uses this one to mock all the bigwigs spouting hot air: 'so much talk talk, no one is listening, oh!' New York DJ legend Danny Krivit has been spinning this one since it emerged from the studio and here contributes one of his coveted re-edits extending the groove from the instrumental for a dancefloor classic. On the flip, a cover that could only come from the mind of Wunmi, an Afro-ised version of The Police's 'Message In A Bottle '. The purists can look away now: this one starts with a hi-speed Afro groove before dropping into the dubby arrangement of the original. A pure party tune produced by '?. In New York and a song that Wunmi has been dying to cover for years. The debut Wunmi album, 'A.L.A.' will be released in September supported by worldwide live dates. The afro-flava'd title cut is just fine on its own with its echoes of primetime Fela, but it’s the flip-flopped version of 'Message in a Bottle' that's been causing the dancefloor damage…it’s a lovely cover version indeed *** - Cal Gibson iDJ
