Required Listening 2 presents an audio tour of Canada with Toronto Mayer David Miller introducing genius emcee Abdominal's track 'T-Ode', the dope lyrical ode to Toronto. Taken from the first debut album "Escape From The Pigeon Hole" (Do Right Music / Antidote), featuring production by DJ Format, Cut Chemist, Young Einstein (from Ugly Duckling), DJ Fase, DJ Serious, Circle Research. 'T-Ode' solidifies Abs position in the hip hop game as one of the most versatile, innovative emcee's out there. Bringing the glitchy, nu-soul is Vancouver's Sekoya, with the track "Loves in Need" featuring the sexy, soulful yet socially charged vocals of Amalia Townsend. Amalia has worked with Swedish producer extraordinaire Opolopo, Atjazz, Sonar Kollektiv's 1 Luv, Compost Record's Eddy Meets Yannah, and Afronaught. Sekoya is an amalgamation of critically acclaimed jazz musicians from the Joshua Redman Quartet, Greg Huchinson and Reuben Rogers as well as founding member Vinstar Kearley. The band has shared the stage with Cinematic Orchestra, Kid Koala, to name a few. Representing Montreal is Ghislain Poirier, known as "the king of the bounce", his well-known Montreal party "Bounce La Gros" and his signature raga style riddems and deconstructed hip-hop has led him to collaborate with TTC, LoFi Hi-Tek and remixed the likes of Les Georges Leningrad and Lady Sovereign and moved on to become her tour DJ! His track "Pou Ki Sa dub" featuring the Creole singing of Nik Myo has that late night dirty, dubby, dancehall vibe. Wrapping up the East Coast meets the West Coast journey is Toronto's much-loved hip-hop aficionados Circle Research who take the indie rock track "My Sword Hand's Anger" by Apostle of Hustle and flip it giving it a head-nodding re-edit after winning their remix contest.
