Maylee Todd - Aerobics In Space

Maylee Todd

Aerobics In Space

Released: 9th May 2011 | 2 track house single
Maylee Todd, one of Canada’s most exciting new music acts, is spreading an infectious energy around town. With a string of soulful pop tunes, this bright, young spark is turning heads by reinventing tropical grooves. Maylee injects a unique element of humour into much of her art, which also explains her eccentric choice of attire on the album’s cover. And the up-tempo Betty Davis inspired Aerobics in Space is a tribute to her comical interactive aerobics events called Sweatshop Hop. “I think the idea of doing any sort of physical activity in space is pretty funny,†she explains. Pommer & Barck have each been rocking the dance music scene for over a decade. Their recent collaboration has set dancefloors around the world ablaze, and this new remix promises to throw more fuel on the fire. International tastemaker Gilles Peterson said on his BBC Radio 1 show that the song “reminds me of Jean Luc Ponty's 'In The Fast Lane'. It was a kind of a crazy, ahead-of-its-time tune, and this track is all over that vibe. I'm loving it!â€
