Just a Vibration (feat. Hammonds Saltaire Brass Band)

Drum The Bass

Released: 27th November 2015 | 10 track world fusion album

'Just A Vibration' is about bringing Indian classical and street music, melodies and concepts to Brass Band to make engageable, dynamic music with this very unusual, cross-cultural combination of Brass Band, Sitar, Drum Kit and Bass. The influences range from Bombay street music, Jazz, Brass, Indian classical, Bollywood, R.D. Burman, Wagner, Drum'n'bass, Dub Step, Mariachi and more. They all seem to exist harmoniously in the same space - as it is all nothing more that just a vibration! Composer Shri Sriram has been awarded the prestegious BASCA British Composer award for this project in Dec 2016.

"“Sitar and brass work together remarkably well on the title track and the slinky Neck To Neck, while on the slow and drifting Tanpura the sound of the Indian drone instrument is reinterpreted on brass.
An entertainingly varied set that would make great film music.”"
Guardian, 3 star Album Review
