Thinking Remixes, Pt. 2

A 3 track dubstep ep (13m 37s) — released March 14th 2013 on Exceptional Records

Thinking is the third single from London/Leeds-based seven piece Submotion Orchestra taken from their critically acclaimed second album Fragments. This effortlessly cool and funky electronic track is now accompanied by two snazzy mixes

Mix 1 is courtesy of Dr Meaker who have been consistently hitting the headlines over the last twelve months. Their two previous releases on the legendary V recordings have both made the BBC 1XTRA playlist whilst their take on Skyfall has had a complete avalanche of coverage. Now the sublime sounds of Submotion Orchestra are taken off in a new, harder direction courtesy of the Doctor. There's a heavy d 'n b influence natch, deftly sprinkled with a side serving of dub and breaks influences to produce a refreshingly original new take on the track

Mix 2 comes from South Coast new boy Maths Time Joy who brings a much more mystical, dreamier feel to the track .Maths Time Joy is the alias of 22 year-old producer, singer and songwriter Tim Worthington, whose sound combines live guitar and vocals with the intricate sample-based productions of artists such as Flying Lotus and Lapalux. With a production background heavily rooted in Hip Hop, Maths Time Joy has developed his own unique and soulful take on the current wave of bass heavy electronic music. With his mix of Thinking his swirling effects and almost downtempo touches build an overall sound of depth and mystery, that's already had those good people at XLR8R jumping up and down
