Cakeology

A 5 track underground rap/hip-hop ep (13m 53s) — released February 22nd 2010 on Fat City

Mr Dibiase is an old head from the LA beat scene who has been doing his thing for over 10 years. He's opened shows for MF Doom, GZA and J Zone and collaborates with the likes of Ras G and Flying Lotus along with doing gigs at Low End Theory and all over the west coast. His productions run from 8 bit classics to seductive soul to raw grungy bangers. We included one of his tracks, "May The Force", in our Producer No.2 seven inch series which John Willimas ended up sampling for his 1977 pop hit "Star Wars Tune", Damn! All City have also recently got behind him releasing a selection of his beats on a collectable 10inch. On this EP Mr Dibiase drops some of his most well known tracks displaying perfectly his straight up, minimalist lo-fi attitude to beatmaking and production. If you like hiphop & beats with no frills that kicks down the door and makes you bump your head you will love this shit. Woop !
