The Crunch

A 4 track funk ep () — released July 27th 2009 on Fat City

Described as 'the Merseyside Product Placement' by Grandslam magazine, this is a blinding mix of funk 45s, expertly blended by Liverpools Christian McBride (aka the compiler of our 'Fat n Funky' 45 Kingseries) and DJ Illson. The tracks number over 30 and range from sweet sixties soul such as Solomon Burke, Jo AnnGarrett etc, through to obscure oddities with odd names such as The Mugs, The Honour Society, Gene Boyd, Robert Potts, Junkyard Band and some relatively well known stuff - Jimmy Gray Halls anthemic jazz track 'Be That Way' with its huge drum break, Ruby Andrews, Madeline Bell and Something Real. As Brainfreeze was built around an advert for a 7-11 and Product Placement around a Milk advert, the midgets go one better with their extra fat advertising jingle for Smiths Crisps!
