The Plump DJs are certainly hot property at the moment! No sooner had the whiff of a promo been detected, every who’s who at Radio 1 had to have a copy! SOUL VIBRATES / BULLET TRAIN has already been played numerous times by PETE TONG, ANNIE NIGHTINGALE and ANNIE MAC. The boys were also interviewed live on air from breezy Café Mambo in Ibiza with Pete Tong for the Essential Selection in mid-August and they have been selected to present Annie Nightingale’s show while she is away on Thursday 26th August. On the 10th September 2004, the Plump DJs will feature on ITV’s “Mixmasters†series. Now in its fourth year and nominated for Best Music TV Series at Music Week's CADS04 awards, 'Mixmasters' returns, bringing electronic music to television in a totally unique way. The show features exclusive mixes from leading DJs - including Derrick Carter, Ellen Allien, Plump DJs, Matthew Dear and Hiroshi Watanabe - which are then fused with visual mixes from top VJs and animators. In between all of the press action, they have also found some time to be DJs. Their hectic schedules have taken them from Switzerland to Japan and everywhere in between with influences of all these places clearly shining through in their work. SOUL VIBRATES holds up to the title as heavy weight bass lines hit the floor with clever sample techniques followed by rock solid grooves to win the belt. Japan influenced BULLET TRAIN plays a close contender as crazy edit skills and funk-fueled breaks zoom through the sound system.
