Beat Myself Up

A 3 track breaks single (14m 53s) — released May 17th 2011 on Finger Lickin

Andy and Lee’s favourite track from their long player Headthrash is ‘Beat Myself Up’ and who better to remix their own tune than the boys themselves. Inspired by the vocoder style of early funk bands like Zapp, Lee and Andy managed to track down the number one authority on voice boxes in the world. A man named Professor.M who lectures at Pennsylvania University in the states. They invited him to indulge and the result is a haunting, twisted, self-loathing vocal. Sombre keys, soaring synths, a squelchy Oizo-esque bassline and a jackin’ electro groove make this the Plumps’ biggest tune of their sets. ‘London Street Music’ on the AA side is another in the relentless assault of Plump weaponry. Tried and tested for the past 12 months it has been a much sought after track. The distinct old school vibe, the trademark chops and powerful riffs make this a force to be reckoned with.
