Futuristica Music

Released: 17th July 2006 | 3 track downtempo single
Genre: Nu-Jazz / Jazz / Electronica New group Stark sounds like a cross between Koop, Madlib and Zero 7. Beautiful vocals and production from Natasha Stark and George Eyo. Remix from heavyweight Jazz head Nostalgia 77, sounds like a classic Koop record. For fans of Koop, Madlib, Zero 7, Nicola Conte, Ninja Tune Records etc Narita (Nostalgia 77 Remix) Futuristica Music presents their second single release for 2006 by the gorgeous Stark. Imagine Koop, Zero 7 and Madlib on one piece of wax and you're close to the cinematic nujazz beatscapes they create. Vocals come courtesy of Natasha Stark who writes and performs her lyrics effortlessly whilst Georgeyo (whom you may know from the excellent nujazz outfit Wah Wah Collective) produces music that keeps surprising with every listen. On remix duties is one of the most gifted modern jazz composers of recent times, Ben Lambdin, the creator of Nostalgia 77. Here he provides a modal masterpiece with lush instrumentation for a unique interpretation of the title track 'Narita'. Stark are now recording their debut album due for release on Futuristica Music later this year, with another single due very soon.
