MOSQUITO COAST - SAMBA DO BELL
A 2 track single (14m 38s) — released May 30th 2005 on Freestyle Records
Melbourne producer Lanu (Los Cabrones/The Bamboos) serves up a steaming hot pot of Latin-infused house flavours on his second outing for Freestyle. 'Mosquito Coast' is a deep, bass heavy house groove peppered with trumpet, Cuban montunos and a sublime McCoy Tyner-esque piano solo that will find favour with many a dancefloor this summer.
On the flip, fellow Australian Eddit fires up the MPC along with a posse of local musicians par excellance to give you the mighty 'Samba Do Bell'. No Comply rework the track into a searing collision of broken samba patterns, horn stabs and a killer breakdown reminiscent of Spiritual Souths massive 'Green Gold' track.'
".. Samba da bell on the flipside ventures into the well trodden path of spiritual south territory." - Nik Weston
"All I can say is watch out for a monster bassline on Samba do Bell in the slamming original and No Comply versions." - Ennio Styles
