Touch My Soul (feat. Steve Marriott)

A 2 track funk single (7m 40s) — released March 24th 2008 on Freestyle Records

Based in Exeter, Lack of Afro, or Adam Gibbons as he's known by his doctor, is a talented multi-instrumentalist raised and fed on nothing but the finest funk. His debut album, 'Press On' was released in October 2007 is a wide spanning soundscape, documenting funk, hip hop, soul, psych and jazz... as much at home on your ipod as it is on the dancefloor and reminiscent of something DJ Shadow might have made if he wasn´t trying to break MTV. Following a busy schedule remixing a plethora of artists such as Nicole Willis, The New Mastersounds, Diesler and Eddie Roberts, Adam is now working on his follow up, but in the meantime we thought it would be nice to give a full release to one of the most requested tracks from the album; 'Touch My Soul' - a unique and heartfelt outing, featuring the recognizable vocals of Steve Marriott. Made up of a number of layered samples alongside Adam´s own deft playing, the track opens with a familiar sample from The Small Faces 'Afterglow (Of Your Love)' taken from their Ogden's Nut Gone Flake album (of which we're sure you'll appreciate our tribute to on the artwork!) . On the flip is the heavy hitting 'The Outsider', another much requested release on vinyl. **************************************** LOTS OF RADIO SUPPORT INCLUDING Colin Murray - Radio 1 (many plays..
