Future Soul

A 17 track pop single () — released May 5th 2008 on Freestyle Records

It was over a long lunch in Camden Town around the end of 2002 that Adrian Gibson and Dan Jordan, then label boss of Unisex Records, hatched a plan to focus an album on the excellent new soul music coming out of Philadelphia at the time. Dubbed "Philly Soul", the CD compilation went on to be a huge selling album. Similar compilations based around the musical output of Detroit, California, New York, Atlanta, London before finishing the series with a "Best Of" double CD. Five years down the line and Freestyle felt it was about time to resurrect the spirit of this series, but this time not with the narrow confines of making each album city or area specific. The "Future Soul" series will, hopefully, be the first of many compilations showcasing the great wealth of Modern Soul music that is currently out there from around the world. On this album we have some previously unreleased gems, some obscure album tracks, some singles that went under most people's radar but all are wonderful examples of music from today. Contained within tracks from legendary soul artists such as Will I Am (from the Black Eyed Peas), Jill Scott, Omar, John Legend and Lewis Taylor alongside lesser known, but as equally talented stars such as Trizonna McClendon, Diesler, Eric Roberson and the enigmatic Nicole Willis.
