If We Hadn't Had You

A 5 track singer-songwriter ep (16m 6s) — released May 13th 2016 on Gare du Nord Records

If We Hadn't Had You is the lead single ahead of the forthcoming solo album Not Your Door by Canterbury-based Robert Rotifer, previously known as frontman and songwriter of Robert Wyatt-endorsed Gare du Nord band Rotifer, whose credentials include an album produced by Wreckless Eric for Edwyn Collins' AED label.

Track 1 features a saxello solo by octogenarian Canterbury jazz legend Tony Coe, who played with everyone from Derek Bailey to Dizzy Gillespie (as well as on the original Pink Panther Theme).

The album version with Rotifer's own guitar solo is featured at the end of the EP, along with two exclusive tracks (Calais and The Flapping of the Wings) and a cover version of Tip of Your Shoe, a song that Rotifer wrote with John Howard for last year's John Howard & The Night Mail album.

The album version of If We Hadn't Had You has already received airplay on Soho Radio.

A lovely tune. Judging by this the album's gonna sound great. - Andy Lewis Soho Radio
