Rotifer - Black Bag

Black Bag

Gare du Nord Records

Released: 27th January 2014 | 2 track power pop single

Gare du Nord Records are pleased to announce the release of a special single edit of the song Black Bag from Rotifer's album The Cavalry Never Showed Up as a digital single, coupled with brand new song Queen's Drive.

Featuring Paul Rains from Allo Darlin' on lapsteel, this pivotal track on the album (according to website Pennyblackmusic) was originally recorded in an improvised studio jam and has now been condensed into three-and-a-half minutes of pop edginess.

New track Queen's Drive, on the other hand, is a tribute to less-than-glamourous hotel life in London's Finsbury Park area, including an unavoidable local pop-cultural reference. The song features Canterbury's own Will Glanfield on saxophone and might possibly signal a danceable new direction for Rotifer's next album.
