Antronica 2

A 16 track electropop album (55m 33s) — released January 5th 2018 on Gare du Nord Records

From Sacramento via Berlin, volume 2 of prolific psychedelicist Anton Barbeau's collection of electronic pop recordings (from his teen years in the 1980s to now) gets a full digital release on Gare Du Nord Records.

Known more for his psychedelic guitar pop and his work with members of XTC, The Soft Boys, The Bevis Frond and The Loud Family, Barbeau has released something like 23 albums since being inspired by Gary Numan's Cars to take up music and begin writing songs.....

Subtitled "Two centuries of synthpop" the Antronica 2 album gathers songs both from Barbeau's teenage basement days, recorded in Sacramento in the mid-80s on a Yamaha 4-track cassette machine, and 21st century tracks recently written or re-worked in Berlin. "Maybe it means I haven't grown much as an artist, but I'm pleased with how well my ancient tracks sit with the new material," Barbeau laughs.
