Roshi feat. Pars Radio is the band built around Welsh-Iranian singer/songwriter Roshi Nasehi. The band also features and is produced by Graham Dids Dowdall ( Gagarin, Pere Ubu, Nico etc ). Since starting the project in 2008 they have released two EPs and and album which have all gained incredible reponses. The EPs have both been Records of the Month in Mixmag and garnered amazing reviews including in Froots, New Internationalist, Freq, Groove Attack, Rock n Reel, Rockarilla. Roshi has been described as one of the most singular voices working today . The band gig regularly especially in UK at clubs, festivals and prestigious concert venues and have received airplay across Europe incluidng Radio 3, BBC 6 music, resonance FM, radio Eins and many more.

In Spring of this year Roshi was invited to compose a new score for the 1918 silent film - Amarilly of Clothes Line Alley made by Mary Pickford. Commissioned by Bird's Eye view this was premiered at Londons Purcel Room on the Southbank in March to considerable acclaim. Don't breathe It to a Soul but Amarilly is getting gay with a dude is an extract of this and Roshi along with her main Pars Radio collaborator, Graham Dowdall have recorded this for release as a single as well as for their forthcoming album 3 Almonds And A Walnut. They have commissioned some of their favourite artists to re-interpret the piece for the single. The limited edition 7 version features a mix from the legendary DAVID THOMAS . David is the leader and singer of the utterly seminal cult group PERE UBU whose sound and influence resonates across music and time. One of the major figures of experimental rock, David has trod a singular sonic path for over thirty years and applies his keen ear to the song, focussing on dark percussive textures that frame and contextualise incredible subtle vocal treatments to create an atmosphere of fragile humanity in a primordial soup of industrial percussion. The single also features an edit of Roshi featuring Pars Radio original version - the film extract of which can be seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7V2FAR_nttw Set in a louche early 20th century artist's studio, the industrial percussion is a backdrop to a beautiful vocal performance and loops that accompany and enhance the narrative of the film scene. The digital release features, alongside David Thomas' mix, further interpretations from Now, You Are Wolf and Gagarin. NOW have existed as a band since the late 90's and had releases on a variety of labels including Pickled Egg. Central players in Londons Kosmische and experimental scene, their music contains elements of 70s German rock alongside more dance and poppy influences. Their remix sits on minimal Velvets style organ chords and a slow motorik groove that combine to hypnotic effect. YOU ARE WOLF is singer/ composer Kerry Andrew - one of the countries leading young vocal composers. Currently composer in residence at Handel House, Kerry has received numerous awards for her solo work as well as part of leading vocal trio Juice. Kerry's mix focusses on gorgeous overlapping vocal loops, breath and space that explore the fragility of Roshis vocal and create a really human vulnerability around the repeated phrases. GAGARIN is the solo project of Pars Radio producer and long term mainstay of experimental London, Graham Dids (Nico, John Cale, Pere Ubu etc). His work has been hailed for the way it disregards the boundaries of electronic music styles and his mix glitches, worries and grooves its way through space, finding its home in his spiritual homeland of South London Bass .

"With a title like that you know it's going to be a bit on the nutty side and it is. Its quality though. 4 stars."
