Gagarin is the solo electronic incarnation of Graham Dids Dowdall - long time composer/producer/musician with a pedigree that includes a long stint playing with Nico in the 80s and current membership of avant legends Pere Ubu. He is also a member of Roshi feat. Pars Radio as well as prolific collaborator including recently with Rothko. He is also a leading expert in using music with disabled young people and a lecturer at Goldsmiths, Uni. of London. Originally a drummer Dids moved towards electronics along time ago and employs a mixture of aging hardware, software and ipad apps to create and perform live his compositions. As Gagarin he has released several albums - the last one - Aoticp came out in 2015 and received acclaim across UK and Europe. Boiler Room described it as sparkingly new electronic soundscapes . The Wire as beautifully co-ordinated line sof ambient noise , Electronic Sound as atmposheric, emotionally charged . It also received airplay across Europe including repeated airplay on BBC Radio 3.

Corvid continues his exploration of the interface between melody, beat and noise - urban and pastoral soundworlds. In 2016 Dids was commissioned to compose 5 pieces for 5 hills in Surrey and reworks of 4 of these pieces appear on Corvid alongside other new work. The soundworld contains elements of ambient, dance music, avant garde electronics, field recordings and abstract improvisation carefully composed into short cinematic expositions. It's accessible but also challenging.

"Haunting melodies - I LOVE this."
Cian o Ciobhain, RTE Ireland
"a world where real and unreal worlds connect. Visionary"
Gianluca Polverari, Rockerilla Italy
"The great thing is that it does not contain any clues that announce when rhythmic mayhem is about to break loose or the Big Spirit is about to descend . Basically, an album that, during meditation, switches on the neonlight"
Diederich Diederischen, Spex Germany
"I thought all of this was great; it made an entirely different use of field recordings, beats and textures, and throughout a great CD."
Frans de Ward, Vital Weekly
"I am really loving Corvid. I think it may be his best work yet"
Joe Muggs, Freelance
"Very fond of that. Well worth investigating."
Gideon Coe, BBC6Music
