1984

A 2 track jungle / drum 'n' bass single (9m 34s) — released September 7th 2009 on Grid Recordings

Vital Elements comes crashing back onto Grid with his first release since the massive 'Path Is Clear' EP in 2008. His debut EP enjoyed support across BBC Radio 1 with plays from Colin Murray, Huw Stephens and the Zane Lowe show, and if that last release provided an introduction for many to the V2E sound, then these two fresh tracks confirm that he means business! '1984' takes it's inspiration from the George Orwell novel of the same name, with its vision of a repressed totalitarian future. Luckily this track from Vital Elements is neither repressed, or linked to any totalitarian ideologies, but instead could be the soundtrack of rebellion with its powerful marching drums and brutal bass stabs. A calm old skool aura swishes round the militant beats before building up to anarchy with a bassline to cause revolution on the dance floor! 'Cocaine Import Agency' or CIA for short continues the bass assault on the power houses of the western world. As the alarm sounds through the intro this track right from the start you known this is a completely different type of weapon. Tight snappy beats and trademark Vital bass combine for a high energy slice of jump up funk with guaranteed high impact.
