Mutated Forms are kick off 2010 with their debut EP on Grid Recordings, and what a way to start the year. 4 avant-guard numbers from this Estonian production outfit, who since signing to Grid Recordings in early 2009 this have started to create quite a stir within the Drum and Bass world. Each track to find its way out of their studio has shown a different dimension to their sound, and the trend continues with this new release. Support from Grooverider, Bailey, Dieselboy, DJ Marky, London Elektrcity, Fabio are testament to the diverse appeal of their music, and this collection of tracks should spread the net even wider. Amazing to say the least." – Big Shot Magazine (Dieselboy) 'Centuries' is a jazz tinged roller, with tight snappy beats and a punishing no nonsense workout with diving bass stabs. 'Ready When You Are' is one of those tracks you feel your chest. A high pitched amen workout gliding tightly over a sliding, mutating bassline, with the calm before the storm setting you up for the drop. 'Lucid Dreaming' wastes no time, throwing you in the deep end after a short introduction – this one is all about the bass, aimed squarely to get the dancefloor shaking. 'High Sines Low Claps' is the most experimental cut from the EP, with this half time track slowing the tempo right down. Featuring a neat hip hop vox, slamming beats, rich distorted bass and lush pads this rounds off this varied collection leaving the listener gasping for more.
