Metropolitan Jazz Afair (MJA) brings jazz back to the hip- shaking dancefloor . Like in the 60's, when Cannonball “Buckshot LeFonque†Adderley liked to see jazz get down, get up and sweat.
This digital groove, which at the same time remains natural, innate, is a mystery, a miracle! It is part of the calling card of this Lyon formation. A fusional relationship between machines and vintage instruments, doubled with a respectful and meticulous appreciation of music history is at the base of this identity. The seductive Andy Bey styled vocals of “Find a Way†will surely take hold of your ears and soul and is one of the tunes which will last for the summer 2007 in your ears and feet.
The flip-side tune Escapism is reworked by MJA member Patchwork who is also known for his various productions under several synonyms like The Dynamics, Mr. President, Evergreen and Cinnamon.
While the original is driven by the marvellous horn sections and a swinging “cool jazz“ groove the remix is turned into a perfect soul-funk groove from the hardest working men in show-biz out of France these days.
