ASTORIA is a solo project created for lovers of energised grooves and pionneer harmonies. Not just by playing the usual piano, but moreover in bossa nova guitaring and drumming using congas, bongos and djembÃ© beats. The man behind Astoria becomes a frenetic sampler at adolescence. Hidden in his room, underneath the roofs of an old building in the neighberhood of the Marais in Paris, he elaborates tracks and tries out different instruments. For many years he's ventured into the vast collection of his father, seeking to extract substance and forgotten tunes from the many jazz and bossa records. Once isolated and identified, he smoothly melts them into his tracks. Keeping those inimitables sounds alive and transposing them into his modern and contemporary musical pieces.
