Alex Pierce (Leveret/Egyptian Hip Hop) returns to his Obsidian Pond guise for another set of gloopy loop collages that may end up providing the soundtrack to your summer, providing it ever arrives. Free-flowing, subtly pulsing and decidedly chilled out, Pierce's loops draw comparison with producers like Clams Casino and Friendzone, as well as hardcore loopers like William Basinski.

Pierce's music forms a humid haze that refracts the sunlight in myriad twinkling directions, occasionally breaking to allow a refreshing blast of cool air through. Sporadic dips into darker environs will keep you on your toes, but Deidameia is, for the most part, as lazily lovely as loops can be.

Deidameia is released in a limited edition of thirty hand-numbered tapes for the world with original artwork by Obsidian Pond. As always, they were dubbed by our buddies at Bomb Shop.
