Still Dancin' (feat. Meitz)

A 4 track broken beat ep (22m 33s) — released September 13th 2005 on Loungin Recordings

Phonique, one of Berlin's most diverse producers has already completed tracks for the likes of Poker Flat, Dessous, Crosstown Rebels and now hits loungin' with his most Jazz inspired number to date. If all that wasn't enough he has even found time to engineer Erlend Oye's DJ Kicks compilation on !K7. Add to this his prolific DJ schedule and you'll find one of Europe's busiest producers of the moment. Volker Meitz of Sonar Kollektiv has also been active producing and adds a great Jazzy flavour to this release. The Main Version is a deep and jazzy House number that tells you exactly where it's at straight from the intro beats. The mellow conga groove leads into Rhodes, live double bass and your half way there, then comes Vido's vocals and live keys to set the pace. This Max Fresh Remix is going to attract the attention of the more minimal deep House heads, beefing up the original beats and cutting up the original track, this works really well on the floor. Flip to the B side and the Still loungin' Version sees Phonique and Meitz give you in their words "a more Metro Area styled mix". Toughening up the beats, adding some synth stab action and then adding an über fat bassline. The rest of the track builds with the Rhodes chords, string and synth action sprinkled over the groove, this one can just be left to play. The Radio Version is exactly what is says on the packet, a straight to the point version of the original.
