Shon

A 4 track techno ep (21m 50s) — released May 29th 2006 on Keys Of Life

Originally British but now relocated to Germany, Gez Varley gained fame in the early 1990s as the other half of the seminal electronic duo LFO. Gez left LFO in the mid-90s to concentrate on his solo projects, which stylistically have varied from minimal techno to tech-house. Not only recording under his own name, Gez has also been behind the artist aliases G-Man and *g*, and run record labels called G and GMR. So far Gez Varley's music has been heard on such labels as UK's Swim~, Germany's Force Inc, Studio !K7 and i220. "Shon", Gez Varley's twelve-inch on Keys of Life is four tracks: 'Raw', 'Nemesis', 'Purge' and 'Shon'. These somehow reminisce both Kirlian's Sähkö-009 12" and 'pH' by Philus (also on Sähkö) -- with strong Detroit presence and some Sleeparchive thrown in -- however, these are just made for the more advanced dancefloors!
