Another mestizo tune from Lovemonk & Marula Café's 7" series Marula Soul Food. It's a story about going to Brazil and not wanting to come back. Open Foraina released some cool stuff in the late 90s, played with key headz like Kruder & Dorfmeister, among many others. Then he started recording music for a successful Spanish TV series, and with the money he earned he went on holiday to Brazil. That was a long time ago and he's still there. We were thinking about invading the South American country in order to bring him back home but in the end, because Lovemonk is a peaceful label, we decided to ask him for a funky Brazilian song instead. When he was finishing the (originally instrumental) track, Colombian troubadour Jack Quinonez stumbled into the studio by chance. The two hooked up and Quinonez laid down the vocal, giving the already irresistible laidback groove an extra sparkle. The B-side features the instrumental version with a killer jazz trumpet played by an Argentinian artist whose name we cannot say. This Spanish-Brazilian-Colombian-Argentine nugget comes in a thick sleeve with original artwork by Roger Olmos and of course a recipe for a delicious salmorejo, a thick cold tomato soup courtesy of Madrid restaurant El Pez Gordo.
