Koalas - Lover / Two Loves

Lover / Two Loves

Low Four Records

Released: 1st December 2017 | 2 track electropop single

Following on from their downbeat summer debut Home Heart, Manchester synth-pop duo Koalas reveal their hand with a double a-side of exhilarating left-field pop, Lover / Two Loves.

With Manchester's lurching music scene currently knee deep in DIY guitar bands, Koalas are part of a new vanguard of artists to come out of the Low Four studio and label, working with producer Brendan Williams (Dutch Uncles, GoGo Penguin, Makemake).

Songwriter and co-producer Samuel Jones discusses the decision to release two tracks at once… Lover and Two Loves are two-sides of the same coin, the first an imagined conversation with a fallen love and the latter dealing with a collision of lust and love. They're very much the centrepieces of our live-set and it's cathartic to have these songs - some of the first written - out there.

Koalas cite influences ranging from Caribou and Boards of Canada to The Pointer Sisters and Ambitious Lovers.
