Torrington Haze

A 10 track piano album (46m 53s) — released February 18th 2008 on Latest Records

Recorded in only a day Torrington Haze represents the distillation of four and half years of evolution and turbulence in Ben's life. He describes his debut of original piano pieces as "a diary of my life, every feeling I've ever had". Composer Alison Kay describes it as "absolutely beautiful music". Promoters Healthy Concerts say of Solomon's tour de force "music of great originality and emotional power, exquisite melodies". Emma Burton for Wave magazine says "Drawing influences from a wide range of classical & contemporary music, Ben has found a singular voice & language within the pure sound of the piano" Ben Solomon, still in his early 30s, is a musical genius and a major new force in classical piano composition. Compared to Ludovicio Einaudi, born in Rustington, Sussex and raised in New York, Ben taught himself to play the keyboards in order to express the powerful feelings and sounds that came into his head. Ben's skill is that he is able to translate a spectrum of feelings through his music, ranging from dark and brooding to passionate and ecstatic; creating a journey of expansive landscapes and taking the listener to great emotional depths and heights.
