Watermelon Man

A 2 track vocal jazz single (6m 57s) — released November 18th 2002 on Wah Wah 45s

Its been a long wait but here it is; the second release on our wahwahmoose imprint & what a little corker it is. Karin Krog cut this little gem in Oslo in 1966 with Norwegian Maestro Arne Bendiksen firmly at the controls and the groovy backing of Public Enemy (well before Chuck D & Flavor Flav had any idea of what time it was). Karin is an absolute jazz legend in Scandanavia; her first performance at the Molde Jazz Festival was in 1965, her most recent appearance was just last year!! If you haven't come across her striking vocal talents before then shame on you: check out her compilation on Crippled Dick & her recent collaborations with the Bobby Hughes Combination on Stereo Deluxe. Speaking of Bobby Hughes... Espen Horne once again displays his production talents with an excellent reworking of Karin's original that hits all the right notes. As usual this will be a limited release so don't sleep: talk to Kudos now!'
