Introductions EP, Part 2

A 2 track tech-house single (14m 45s) — released July 19th 2010 on Moscow Records

In the spirit of the UK election season Moscow Records have looked to their manifesto in presenting their peak-of-summer release. "Introductions EP, Part 2" marks the second instalment in the innovative series on the imprint aimed solely at igniting the careers of exciting new producers on the scene, here presenting an 18 year old south Londoner - In Colour - and one of the label's founders - Strutt. Since "Part 1" in the series label manager Alex Harris (Alexqbit) has been busy establishing a music-tech teaching initiative at his own studio to further supplement the "Introductions" concept and make true the promise laid down when the label was founded to nurture and develop young, exciting talent. Henry Oldfield's In Colour project is the first graduate from this programme with the beautifully haunted "La Paloma" the result. Distorted piano stabs (recorded live) reverberate in and out of a hypnotic beat that subtly increases in tension, tied together by bewitching arrangement that expresses a maturity well beyond the producers tender 18 years of age. On the AA we have Strutt with "Seven Days". One of the imprint's establishing heads, we just had to wait until the summer to drop this bomb! Blending heady 80's stadium rock guitar riffs (played and recorded live) with an acid house beat certainly marks an unusual concept for a track. The result? Something totally original, experimental and unique; embodying the spirit of the series, we urge you to shed your preconceptions and give in to it's infectious grooves, "Seven Days" has been tried and tested where it matters most - we guarantee it will get the dance-floor bouncing! Support from Franck Roger (Real Tone), Terry Francis (Fabric), Maher Daniel (Get Physical), Matt Tolfrey (Leftroom / Crosstown Rebels / Stealth), Nick Harris (NRK), Chris Woodward (Buzzin Fly), Danny Ward (Dubble D / Moodymanc) and many more! The limited vinyl run (200 only) will be followed by a general digital release later in the summer.
