When Suff moved from Berlin to Sydney last summer he quickly hooked up with Perth based producer Ta-ku, best known for his "50 Days For Dilla" project. "Bricks & Mortar" unites two beatpals with pretty different soundscapes but one common mission: looking for the perfect beat!
Liner notes The highs and lows bricks and mortar concept was established under the idea of two separate entities uniting to create something fresh and unique: be it through two different brands, two different shoes or two contrasting colour schemes - much like the binding of two sovereign elements to birth something whole, so is the sonic association between Suff Daddy and Ta-Ku for the accompanying "Bricks and Mortar" EP by working in alignment with the bricks and mortar canon. Suff Daddy and Ta-Ku collaborate to showcase the output that occurs when two producers from two different sides of the equator share familiar lane.
