Eightyeight EP

A 5 track electropop ep (20m 11s) — released April 12th 2010 on Mr Jones

Championed by the likes of Kissy Sell Out, Basement Jaxx, Felix Da Housecat and Mustard Pimp, Dublin duo, "Schizofonics" have announced the date (April 12th) for their debut EP "EightyEight" on Mr Jones records. Featuring 4 tracks plus a bonus remix by High Rankin; EightyEight showcases the Schizofonics, jump up, bass driven sound. The pair made quite an impact in the blog world last year, topping the Hype Machine chart twice in June, knocking Boys Noize off the top spot. Kissy Sell Out also named them his "'Young Blood' favourite artists of '09" and featured them heavily on his BBC Radio 1 show. Schizofonics have been DJ'ing together for over ten years and began producing in 2008. Their production style is as diverse as their DJ sets, taking inspiration from Electro to Global Bass and everything in between. This eclectic sound is most evident on 'Break Free' their first original production. Half chord based vocal track and half murky bassline banger it's a tune that's as at home in the club as it is on your iPod. "If I had loads and loads of money to spend on making superstars, I'd sign these guys" - Kissy Sellout "Beats sound big, keep em coming... Big up"- DJ Zinc "What Queen needs to do is take the Schizofonics on the road with them to turn out electro re-workings on the fly." - Rolling Stone Magazine
