Following up on Roy Davis Jr.'s relentless release schedule, NICE+SMOOTH presents a brand-new single for 2005 featuring three cuts from his critically acclaimed WATER FOR THIRSTY CHILDREN CD along with a new genre-smashing remix.
Music selected for this release came from numerous DJ requests to release these tracks on wax, particularly two wonderful house tracks; the poignant spoken word of 'Soldiers Listen' and the guitar/vocal-hook-heavy 'How Will You Know ''. For the hip-hop and downtempo headz, the old-school vibes of 'The Way We Were ' featuring Chicago lyricist J FURY finally gets cut onto vinyl, a joint bound to reach beyond Roy's usual fan-base.
As an added bonus, we round out the single with a bumpin? double-time remix of last year's smash single 'Melodies From Heaven'. The remix is crafted by the German masters of the nu-soul/funk/dnb crossover FAUNA FLASH (aka Roland Appel and Christian Promme of The Truby Trio), courtesy of Compost Records.
