Penya Investigations

A 4 track leftfield/idm ep (17m 43s) — released May 13th 2016 on On The Corner Records

Is 'Rootless' a reference to the borrowed 308 GTS at the King Kamehameha Club, accompanied of course by Zeus and Apollo. 'Haunted Head' is this belonging to 'Higgy Baby' perchance? What is 'Daisho' and why do we hear 'Simba' roar? 'Search it out' did you find the answer or was it left for the five-O or T.C and the Island Hoppers? Meditative and organic music for the home and dance floor.

Magnus poured the alchemy of his knowledge, experience and compositions into this debut cassette E.P that flips genres, jumps time and evades the possession of a border. (There's a hidden remix of another forthcoming OtC project buried in the release).

Nick Luscombe (BBC Radio 3 Late Junction/ Mi Soul)

Sonorous, tribal, mystical and damned fine pieces of percussion led alternative dance floor action! Search it Out is the spiritual samba I've been waiting for! Dom Servini – (Amazing Radio/Wah Wah 45s)

"the sound of footprints in soft sand being erased by the tide"

"carnival Techno meets Roberto De Simone's "Coro Delle Lavandaie" in a Sao Paulo favela"

"those Cuban Rumba experiments go dancing with Haitian House"
Dr Rob (Test Pressing)

"Melange of new and old elements - done with feeling. thats exactly my kind of mixture here. 'Rootless' could be (re) mixed as an epic rhythm & sound jam. looking forward to the full release"
Michael Ruetten (Soulsearching)

Another solid release from On The Corner.
Never afraid to push the musical boundaries Kev Beadle (Mind Fluid/BBE)
"More Afro-electronic innovations from the ever consistent On The Corner. Dope!'' Chris Menist (Paradise Bangkok)

"Far out stuff man!" Aaron Levitt (Stamp the Wax)
