Thieves of Time is a Hip Hop project from Beatnik and Breakplus, two b-boys from Switzerland (believe) who stumbled across a real-life time machine, and traveled through the future of music past, collecting performances of their favourite musicians and artists along the way. Their debut release 'The Time Machine' floats through spiritual jazz textures and hip hop beats, whilst the funky flipside 'The Beat Suite' churns up dancefloors with infectious soul jazz grooves and breakbeats galore. Inital response has been very positive, with airplay support from Broke N Beat radio in Philly and Gilles Peterson on his Worldwide show on BBC Radio 1, as well as an 'Undercurrents' feature and review in the September issue of Straight No Chaser. Other Worlds is a new label run by Max Cole and Beatnik, two DJ/producers who linked whilst on the Red Bull Music Academy in Cape Town 2003. Other Worlds originally started as a club night - a shrine to those astral travelling cuts of Hip Hop, Spiritual Jazz, Afro Cuban riddims and Cosmic Boogie - and this is the vibe they bring with the label. Max marked his debut release on the UK label Wah Wah 45s a couple of months ago, and has been producing music since 1998, as well as working for several labels and DJing in venues across London. The art direction of the label is overseen by Matt Bailey, in-house designer at Straight No Chaser, who knows how to provide those unique, spiritual outer space visuals. FORTHCOMING RELEASES The Thieves Of Time album and Thievestrumentals hip hop beats ep are currently underway, whilst future projects on Other Worlds include the Planet Rescue collaboration featuring Beatnik, Max Cole, Graeme Blevins (MetroArea, Bakura, Phuture Lounge) and Chris Cox (Antipodean), as well as deep bruk-tech workouts from Cardiff based Surra (Amalgama).'
